Ceremonial Matcha is high grade matcha that is traditional whisked and served in a bowl. The roots of Ceremonial Matcha go back centuries to the practice of Chanoyu – the mindful, artistic, Zen-inspired Japanese Tea Ceremony. Rishi's Ceremonial Matcha is grown on Kirishima Mountain in Japan and has Japanese green tea cultivars Saemidori, Okumidori and Tsuyuhikari.
To do a traditional preparation, Rishi recommends sifting 1 tsp (2g) into a chawan, or traditional small rounded bowl. To this, add 75ml water at 76C. Use a chasen (bamboo whip) to whip into a smooth, rich foam.
